Expert Witness

Expert Witness:

“Expert Witness” testimony requires a skill-set of abilities, temperament, expertise, and the willingness to testify in a legal proceeding.

Not everyone is willing to testify in a court environment and—quite frankly—not all should testify. When I prepare an appraisal that is for use in a legal matter (divorce and estate being common uses), I am also laying the groundwork for later testimony.

While legal matters in their early stages may not dictate that court testimony will be required, there is no guarantee that such will not become necessary. You will want to be certain that your “expert witness” is ready, willing, and able to perform. I have previously been admitted into the DuPage and Cook counties court systems as an expert witness.
